Our Rainbow Bridge Babies

This page is dedicated to the little ones that came into our rescue and have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. They all touched our hearts and left us too soon. They will always be remembered.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Bandit
Bandit
Rescued June 2007 - Sept 2008

Know that you are missed.

Bandit was rescued after his elderly owner went into a nursing home. Bandit was fostered and loved for almost a year before he was adopted into a home that adored him. Bandit and his new family did not nearly have the time together that the deserved... sadly about 6 months after his adoption Bandit succumbed to cancer. We are thankful that he did find a home that loved and adored him and was with him in the end.

Know in the end that you were loved.

Webster was rescued from kill shelter. He came into the shelter weak, listless and very frail. It was obvious he had suffered years of neglect. We spent time rehabilitating him and after several months found him a wonderful home. Webster received more love in the last eight months of his life than he probably had gotten in his entire life. Sadly six months after his adoption, Webster suffered a series of strokes that took too much of a toll on his frail body.

Rest quietly sweet baby girl

Candie was rescue from kill shelter where she had been dumped by her owner. She found a loving home with a schnauzer brother. Sadly she died of unknown causes after she had been in her new home for a year and a half.

We hope you found the love you never had.

Mitzie was an older gal who was dumped at a high kill shelter by her owner... they said she was "too old". We noticed when we first got her, that Mitzi was not very responsive most of the time. Then about 6 weeks after Mitzi was rescued she started having repeated grand mal seizures, our vet suspected that she might have had a brain tumor and it was best to let her go. We believe Mitzie was dumped at the shelter because of her health issues.

Katie Rose came to us as a bottle feeder with a rough start in life. She was a real fighter for survival. She died of unknown causes at less than 2 years of age. She was adopted by Esther and Chris who adored her. She was taken from her family way too soon, she will always be remembered.

May you be running and playing with Cowboy.

Jeremy AKA Indie was rescue from kill shelter. He was adopted into a loving family that had another little schnauzer boy Cowboy. Tragically both boys were killed Christmas Eve when a wind storm blew open their gate... within minutes of escaping they were both hit by a car.

Less than two weeks after Malcolm was rescued he went into kidney failure. We suspect he may have been dumped at the shelter due to his health issues.
